Red Hook

California

The Mama’s and The Papa’s, ‘California Dreamin’, playing on my father’s record player. The Summer Of Love in the Haight; patchouli, poetry, protest. Road trips down Highway 1, the calming Pacific, Sausalito boat houses and the Berkeley slow-food movement, my second home will always have my heart.

Photographs from Porto, Lisbon and Sintra, 2017.

New York City

“THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE NEW YORK AIR THAT MAKES SLEEP USELESS.” - SIMONE DE BEAUVOIR

At 22, New York was (to me), an odyssey I wasn’t sure I’d survive. At 32, bored and cynical, New York was just grind and repeat. All work, no joy. Present day, New York is nothing if not a series of brilliant contrasts: Hard but soft. Tough but gentle. Ugly but beautiful. Busy but lonely. Energizing but calming. And, it has finally become ‘Home.’

San Sebastian

Photographs from San Sebastian and Bilbao, 2016.

New Zealand

I decided on a Sunday night to catch a Wednesday flight to Auckland. I was in need of adventure and a little soul-searching time in preparation for the next phase of my life. These images are the result of that spontaneous road trip through the North Island.
