When I started Wore Paint I was determined to make this a fun, whimsical, perhaps even a slightly sarcastic space. I knew I didn't want it to be serious or authoritative in tone. I also wanted to create a place where many different people could share their experiences and opinions. What Other People Wore is a monthly post featuring people I know who may or may not work in the beauty industry but definitely inspire me with the way they approach life. While this feature will usually be rooted in beauty, I've also asked my friends to share a little bit more about what makes them happy.

To kick off the first post in the series, my friend Caitlin has shared all things beauty, books, wine and Wallace (her adorable and deeply sensitive - that's my take on him - pup). Enjoy!

Caitlin exploring Provence

Caitlin Heikkila Fusco is a beauty, book and wine enthusiast - the holy trinity, in my humble opinion. She and her husband Paul, along with their adorable dog Wallace (#wallacethepup), spend their weekdays in New York City (Brooklyn - DUMBO to be exact) and their weekends in The Catskills.

Caitlin is the Manager of Digital Content at Revlon. "I oversee all content across Revlon's digital platforms-- making sure it fits the look, feel, and messaging of the brand, and I'm often producing content myself in our digital studio." Did you see Revlon has teamed up with Gal Gadot on their #LiveBoldy campaign? This isn't Caitlin's first foray into the beauty world; she also spent time at the Allure Magazine and has the best beauty stories to tell (ahem - that time Chris MacMillan gave her a haircut at the office?  (after picture below).

When not pouring over lipsticks and mascaras or getting her hair done by the same man who gave Jennifer Aniston "The Rachel," she's running The Book & Wine Club (BWC), which is how Caitlin and I became friends. Each month a book is chosen and paired with a wine that relates to the book's theme or works well with the time of year. We meet every last Wednesday of the month to discuss the book, sample the wine and devour the amazing spread Caitlin provides. Full disclosure: some months there is a little more drinking than discussing. If you don't live in New York, you can sign up for the newsletter and read along with us (get more details on IG: bookwineclub).

A while back, a friend had me take the Enneagram test  and I was astounded by the results. In turn, I am always interested my friend's results. Caitlin took the test and it is no surprise she is a 3 - The Achiever. Between her love of travel, spending time in the Catskills, cooking, hosting dinner parties, running and hiking (usually with Wallace present for all of these things!), I consider myself lucky to have been able to talk with her about her makeup routine, favorite products and a few other interesting things.

What is in your makeup bag at this very moment?

"La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Tinted Sunscreen, Lorac TANtalizer Bronzer, Becca Champagne Pop, Rituals Perfection Volume Mascara (this is new to me, I usually use Marc Jacobs Beauty, but loving it!), Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner, Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Balm, Guerlain Lipstick in Rouge Kiss, Sania's Brow Bar Pencil and a Marc Jacobs Brush. I usually use NARS blush in Liberte but right now I'm carrying a random Sephora blush palette-- I discovered I like mixing the two pink shades, Charming and Beauty." (For reference, Caitlin has a normal skin type. All products linked at end of post)

What is your earliest beauty memory?
"My little sister and I locking ourselves in the bathroom and diving into my mother's makeup bag (lots of lipstick on the face). We got caught. I had a big obsession with that bag. I also remember hiding it under my bed when I was supposed to be taking a nap. She found it. "

Did you set out to work in beauty or was it coincidental?
"While I always liked beauty, I never thought it would be a part of my career. I was working at The Food Network when I was offered a role at Allure Magazine. I thought I knew a lot about beauty, but found I had a lot to learn. Now I work closely with the former editor in chief of Allure, Linda Wells, at Revlon."

What is your beauty style in a sentence or a few words?
"I strive for glowy at all times."

What are your thoughts on Organic or Natural Beauty products"
"I have a few favorites. LURK fragrances, rms Living Luminizer, Ilia Lipsticks... but I 'd find it challenging to make the complete switch."

Drugstore brands have evolved over the past few years. What are the drugstore products you swear by?
"I know I'm biased, but I really love the Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Balm. I'm susceptible to peely lips (especially in the winter) and this has been a lifesaver. Plus, it tastes like candy canes."

I'm really focused on fining the perfect vintage coat so the topic has been on my mind, as of late. What was your best vintage purchase?
"I bought an excellent vintage Barney's suede fringe jacket that reminds me of Sloane Peterson's look in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I'm also a sucker for vintage Levi's."

What is your favorite book, movie or television show?
"There are so many great television shows now! I think my watch it anytime show will always be The Office, but I love Mad Men (partially for the mid-century furniture and fashion). My husband and I dressed up as Don & Betty Draper for Halloween last year."

If you could have any job, what would it be?
"I want to own a vineyard and be a winemaker. DREAMS. If anyone has a vineyard they want to bequeath me, please give me a call."

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
"Provence. I went there on my honeymoon and have been plotting my return ever since. The food, the wine, the stunning countryside... obsessed. Stateside, I love the funky, foodie city of Portland, Oregon (pictured above)."

Who would play you in a movie about your life?
"I love Alison Brie-- she's so funny and smart, and I'm all about her Instagram. I don't know how that relates to me, but I'd cast her in a second."
